Report your fuel prices

Fuel retailers are required to report fuel price changes as part of the Queensland Government fuel price reporting scheme.

Fuel price reporting enables Queensland motorists to compare fuel prices in their local area, find the cheapest price and save money at the bowser.

This page explains the reporting requirements and how to access and use the aggregation system, which has been established under section 4 of the Fair Trading (Fuel Price Reporting) Regulation 2018.

All fuel retailers in Queensland have to report their fuel prices.

The report must be submitted by the ‘responsible fuel retailer’, that is, the entity who decides the retail fuel price for the fuels offered for retail sale at a service station (the price setter for the site).

The fuel retailer may also report via a fuel retailer appointed third-party agent.

Sign up to the reporting portal

Before you start reporting, you’ll need to sign-up at www.fuelpricesqld.com.au. Call 07 3858 0027 to get an ID to sign-up and start reporting fuel prices. If you have more than 6 retail sites, you won’t be able to complete sign-up online. Fuel Prices QLD will contact you to confirm details and reporting arrangements.

You’ll then be asked to confirm your contact details and those of your retail sites.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be emailed login details for the Fuel Prices Queensland portal. When you log in to the portal for the first time, you’ll be asked to confirm your outlets and other details, such as fuel types for sale at each site and the officers authorised to report fuel prices on your behalf.

What you need to report

Fuel price changes: You must report your fuel price information within 30 minutes of a price change at the bowser.

Unavailability of fuel type: If a type of fuel is temporarily unavailable, you must report this within 30 minutes.
