A genuine regional supplier choice for government

Queensland Computers are a full-service IT supplier based in regional Queensland. They focus on supporting the entire state while maintaining strong ties to their regional roots.

Over the last 3 years, the company has become a regional supplier of choice to the Queensland Government, particularly the Department of Education.

'The growth we have experienced is a testament to government agencies genuinely seeking out small to medium enterprises and regional businesses to satisfy their supply chain. Our team works hard to ensure that our standard of delivery is consistently above average,' said Geoff Augutis.

'At Queensland Computers we ensure our success has a flow-on effect to the community. One example of this is the ongoing development of our relationship with Substation 33 and Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Foundation, known as See IT Be IT.'

Through See IT Be IT, Queensland Computers offers end of life IT hardware asset disposal for a net $0 cost to Queensland Government and other enterprises and institutions throughout the state.

This IT hardware is given to Substation 33 who creates opportunities for people of all backgrounds to develop skills required to transition to employment while ensuring responsible e-waste recycling.

Queensland Computers Chief Financial Officer, Ashley Job, also shared the news of the organisation’s most recent achievement.

'Queensland Computers is proud to announce the successful award of the tender through the Department of Education to supply 16,500 devices under the Computers for Teachers program. This is on the back of successfully delivering 10,000 devices for the Financially Disadvantaged Students program (FDS).

'This achievement further demonstrates what can be accomplished when the State Government works with small business. Outside of stimulating economic growth, working alongside growing Australian businesses creates jobs,' he said.

Geoff Augutis said, 'Our team is also greatly involved in local job creation programs with all levels of government including initiatives such as Queensland Government’s ‘Link and Launch’ program, Bundaberg Regional Councils ‘Jobs Commitment’ and many other ad hoc engagements that allow us to provide direction, training and work experience to the youth in our regions.

'We think the work we do with Queensland Government should not be a unique story. While we are very proud of what we have achieved, we know that there is more that can be done to see other small to medium enterprises make themselves more attractive to our state.

'We are on a journey, and we believe this is just the start of the value that we can deliver to the Queensland Government,' he said.
